Hubei province covers large part of Jianghan plain, a famous cotton producing region for a long history. When the new China was founded in 1949, Hubei became an important textile industrial base. It held the third position, after Shanghai and Shangdong, when you count the spindles. With the open-door policy, the coastline have been developing fast. Hubei was left behind.
When the factories along the coastline are busy closing, Hubei’s advantages come to sight:
- convenient supply of cotton fiber;
- large team of skilled workers at competitive cost;
- textile industry base means effective supply chain, including fabrics, accessories, printing and washing facilities.
- Logistic hub
I believe Hubei can do better with cotton,CVC materials, drills, canvas, poplin and knitted are specials. In the middle and lower end products, of course.
